We are currently accepting submissions for monthly internet publication and to be featured in our 2014 Ebook edition.
What are we looking for? Strong sense of imagery, language and characters. We want to feel like we understand the characters, and if we don’t, we want to know why. We want language and dialogue that moves us. We want a story that is worth being told. We want you to evoke an emotion from us- whether that be joy, disbelief, sadness, giddiness. We believe in the craft of writing and the joy of reading. We want to publish pieces from established and new writers. We don’t need to see a long list of credentials. If you can move us with words, then we want you.
We are currently accepting works of fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction in the following genres for internet and Ebook publication:
(all genres- we have a soft spot for stories that take place the summer before college, very Dessen-esque, and we also love Richelle Mead’s quirky humor)
(all genres- but we particularly like contemporary & romance)
(We like Harry Potter, LOTR, The Hunger Games, Delirium, etc)
(Think Fallen by Lauren Kate, Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead, or Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick)
Fiction: Drabble (EXACTLY 100 words), Flash Fiction (101-1000 words), Short Story (1001-3000) PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANYTHING LONGER THAN 3000 WORDS. Please send no more than 3 pieces of fiction at one time. NOTE: We have a soft spot for flash fiction. If you are deciding between a short story and flash fiction to send us, send the flash fiction. You will be more likely to get accepted. As we get more submissions, we will be getting pickier with what we accept. Therefore, if you submit a short story to us, make sure it is VERY well-written.
Poetry: Please send no more than 5 poems at one time. If there are more than 5, the email will be deleted and none will be chosen.
Creative Non-Fiction: Please limit to 3,000 words. Please submit only one piece at a time.
If you have a piece of work you’d like to submit, please send it to foreveronwardreview[at]gmail[dot]com with the subject line SUBMISSION – YOUR TITLE. Do not send more submissions until you hear back from those previously submitted. Send your work IN THE BODY of the email. Attachments will not be opened. Please also include a 100-300 word bio with your submission. We ask that you include at least one “interesting fact” about yourself in the bio.
We DO accept simultaneous submissions. Please note this in your initial email and tell us IMMEDIATELY if you are accepted elsewhere. We also accept reprints, but you must retain or have regained the rights to your work. Please let us know if your work is a reprint and where it was published.
By emailing your submission, you are giving us the right to publish your work on this website and in the Ebook format. If a print edition becomes available, you also give us permission to publish the print edition of your work. Your copyright ALWAYS remains with you. It is your work! If you request us to take your work off of the website for any reason, we will do so. We do ask that if we are publishing your work for the first time, that you wait at least six months before publishing your work elsewhere.
At this time, we cannot pay for submissions. We hope to some day in the future. Your payment is in the form of exposure and credit.
Thank you for submitting! Without you, none of this would be possible!
